Head down to Flappers Comedy Club from Sunday, August 13 to Saturday, August 19 for the Burbank Comedy Festival. Jam-packed with stand-up, open mics, shows, signings, and panels, the Comedy Festival is the ultimate event for comedians and anyone who likes to laugh. Don’t forget to hit the amazing after parties, too.

This year’s top headliners include:

  • Jimmy Dore (Jimmy Kimmel and Comedy Central)
  • Joey Diaz (Spiderman 2)
  • Kevin Pollack (Usual Suspects)
  • Carol Leifer (Seinfeld)
  • Kel Mitchell (Good Burger and Game Shakers)
  • David Zucker (Airplane! and The Naked Gun)
  • Hal Sparks (Queer as Folk)
  • Jimmy Pardo (Conan)
  • Christopher Titus (Titus)

The Festival is a mix of established performers and up-and-coming comedians.

Events to catch

At this week-long festival, there will be dozens of events to attend. For comedy lovers, check out the nighttime stand up and improv. Most of the headliners grace the main stage at 7:00pm each evening–Hal Sparks goes on August 17 while Carol Leifer and Kevin Pollack are on stage the night before.

Each night of the festival, there will be an open mic session running from 11:00pm to 1:30am. You can also check the podcast tapings, mostly held at 5:00pm each day. Don’t forget to visit the off-site shows at the nearby LA Connection, where you’ll find stand up and improv shows. There are also special happy hours with free patio shows.

Comedians will want to take part in the various industry workshops and panels available. You can get a free headshot, visit the “Intro to Writing for Late Night” seminar, and listen to various panels with cast directors, agents, and managers.

Midnight, August 18, the Best of the Fest winners will be announced. Secret judges will award top performers an array of prizes. On Saturday, August 19, there will be a two-hour family friendly event called “Two Milkman Minimum” that’s suitable for kids.

To get tickets, you can visit www.burbankcomedyfestival.com. VIP passes are $350, and that includes access to all events, and general admission tickets are $250. If you want to attend all the classes as well as the events, you can pay $500 for access to everything.
