These are communities also called life care communities that have large campuses that include assisted living facilities and separate housing for those who live independently. They also have nursing homes for those who need specialized and skilled nursing care. The residents here move from one housing option to the other as their needs evolve.

  • Nursing and rehabilitation

Nursing Care Centers are for the individuals who need specialized care regularly, but they don’t need to be hospitalized. The facilities have skilled nurses taking care of the individuals under the directions of professional physicians.

Moving into a senior housing option has a lot of advantages especially for the active adults. Some of these benefits include:

  • No yard work or home maintenance

This is one of the key advantages of a senior community. All the hard work is done and included in the monthly senior living fees.

  • Pay a monthly price for most of your expenses

Living in a senior living community can be expensive, but if you shop around you may find that some place that is affordable. If you add up the monthly living expenses from internet access and cable, property taxes and everything spent on entertainment, you may find out that senior housing is more affordable than most people think.

  • Many amenities close to home

Convenience is something provided by senior housing facilities. All amenities including fitness classes, special events, adult education and entertainment are all on site. Whatever the entertainment needs of your loved ones are, you can most likely find a senior community that has plenty of hobbies on site for them to enjoy.

  • Making new friends

Living in a senior community offers very little boredom for your seniors and a lot of socializing. They will hopefully meet other seniors who have similar interests and socialize with them making new friends. The elderly are encouraged to at least join one class so they can socialize and meet some interesting people.
